Call to Ask Your Legislators to vote "YES" on the Packaging Reduction Act & The Bigger Better Bottle Bill!
These two important bills are moving and we need your help to ensure that your Assemblymember and Senator vote YES on two critical bills to reduce plastic pollution, packaging waste, climate emissions & toxic chemicals and give refillables and recycling a big boost. Hurry! The legislative session ends on June 6, 2024.
1. Dial the Assembly Switchboard at 518-455-4100 and ask to be connected to your Assemblymember’s office. If you’re not sure who your Assemblymember is, click here to look them up.
2. When someone answers, please use the script below:
“Hi, my name is NAME. I’m a constituent calling from YOUR TOWN/CITY. I’m calling to urge the Assemblymember to please vote YES on two important bills. The Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (A5322-b) and the Bigger Better Bottle Bill (A6353-a) are the key to reducing packaging waste, cutting climate change emissions, removing toxic chemicals from packaging, increasing refillables, reducing air pollution, and protecting environmental justice communities in New York. I urge the Assemblymember to please help pass both of these much-needed bills this session - they're already long overdue.”
3. Hang up and repeat the process for your State Senator by dialing the Senate Switchboard at (518) 455-2800 and asking to be connected to
your Senator’s office. If you’re not sure who your Senator is, click here to look them up.
4. When someone answers, use the script below:
“Hi, my name is NAME and I’m calling from YOUR TOWN/CITY.
I’m calling to urge the Senator to please support The Packaging
Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act (S4246-b) and the Bigger Better Bottle Bill (S237-c) and work hard to pass
both bills ASAP this session. These bills are the key to reducing packaging waste,
cutting climate change emissions, reducing air pollution, boosting recycling, and protecting
environmental justice communities in New York. I urge the Senator to please support and vote YES on both of these much-needed bills this session - they're both already long overdue."
