We need real solutions to Louisiana's growing insurance crisis - Demand elected leaders PUT HOUSING FIRST.

The insurance and energy industries are already spending big to influence the October election for Governor, Secretary of State, and local House and Senate races - many supporting a corporate bailout.
I join with my community in opposing the proposal to add $45 million to the insurance incentive program that has failed before. This is nothing but a taxpayer funded bailout for big insurance corporations doing nothing to address the underlying causes of the insurance crisis - an aging housing stock that can't keep up with increasingly frequent and severe storms.
Instead of funneling even more taxpayer money to these big corporations as part of a short term Band-Aid, we should invest in things that will bring insurance rates down permanently, such as weatherizing our homes, businesses, and the power grid to make our state more storm resilient.
