We Will Not Be Silenced: Pledge To Take Nonviolent Direct Action with Democracy Spring

In 2014 and 2015 Democracy Spring (then 99Rise) organized three nonviolent disruptions in the US Supreme Court to protest their disastrous Citizens United and McCutcheon decisions, which allow corporations and billionaires to pour unlimited amounts of money into our elections.

On July 24th, 2017, the five activists who participated in the most recent action were sentenced to 2-4 days in jail for their nonviolent act of civil disobedience to defend our democracy.

We must be clear that we will not be deterred or intimidated by this kind of crackdown on peaceful protest.

Big money corruption and voting suppression are getting worse, not better. We must continue to take nonviolent direct action to resist political corruption and to build the mass movement we need to win a democracy that works for all of us.

Let us know you won't be silenced: pledge to take nonviolent direct action with us to defend democracy.
