Did you experience excessive force from APD during the Asheville uprising?

During protests in Asheville, police used rubber bullets, tear gas, and other "non-lethal" means of force. We have heard reports of a range of injuries, but so far, according to City Attorney Brad Branham, the department has received only one formal complaint about excessive force. We're collecting the stories of people who were victimized so that:

  • we can present this important narrative
  • we can facilitate making reports and submitting complaints and, possibly, stronger action through a federal civil rights suit.
  • If you fill out the form, you can choose to remain anonymous. For those who feel comfortable sharing their contact information, one of our excessive force team will be in touch with you to take a more detailed statement. We will never share your story or contact information without your permission.
