What will your New Year's resolution be for 2021?

Happy New Year – we hope you are excited for the year ahead!

By all measures, 2020 was an extraordinarily challenging year where the world as we know it was turned upside down. Confined to our homes, we were unable to do many of the things that make life so enjoyable.

But despite the odds pitched against us, we learned together, and Community Sponsorship groups demonstrated spectacular resilience and determination and as a result, we saw a record number of submissions of applications and an impressive number of new groups across the country.

At the Refugees Still Welcome Assembly in December, Chris Philp MP extended his praise for Community Sponsorship, and announced that the government is committed to continuing the scheme. We see this is a catalyst for gearing up the sponsorship movement!

We believe that in 2021 even more is possible. We have the capacity and will to help more, give more, and sponsor more.

For that we need your help. We know that the best people to recruit new sponsors are those who are already doing it!

So we are asking you:

What will your New Year’s resolution be for sponsorship in 2021?

  1. Spread the word – become an active advocate of community sponsorship through mentorship, events, awareness-raising etc.

  2. Repeat sponsorship - welcome and resettle another family

  3. Submit our application to the Home Office

For each resolution, we will be in touch with next steps and resources. Together, we can make 2021 the year of resettlement and community sponsorship.
