SC Women Denounce Political Bullying

Please read this letter by Democratic and Progressive women in South Carolina. Then add your name if you agree:

We, the undersigned, are Democratic and Progressive women actively involved in South Carolina politics. Because we are women, we have continually faced dirty, sexist politics — demeaning and degrading attitudes, even from our brothers on the left. We have been the targets of smear campaigns.

However, we have never seen the level of misogyny that is coming from the Sean Carrigan for Congress campaign.

In recent weeks, representatives of the Carrigan campaign have engaged in unprecedented sexist political bullying, including bogus legal threats, bogus ethics complaints, “slut shaming,” attempts to physically intimidate his female opponent, her daughter and her supporters, cyber bullying on social media and via anonymous email, the release of personal documents illegally received by the campaign, and the use of sexist imagery to demean his female opponent.

We demand that Mr. Carrigan and his campaign team immediately cease these misogynist tactics and issue an unambiguous apology for his actions. We further demand that Mr. Carrigan promise to enroll in anti-sexism training.
