We are on a short timeline for this letter program which means

• All letters should be mailed on a rolling basis starting March 1st.

• Letters must be postmarked by COB on Mar 21, 2023.

• Please only sign up using this link if you are writing on behalf of 31st St/Swing Left.

• You will be required to provide us with a personal statement in the box to the left. We will collect these and be in touch if we feel there is a need to refine them.

The WI Supreme Court race has the potential to flip the court at a critical moment. Now that the primary has decided on our two candidates, it is time to get to work. We are targeting our approach to persuadable members in WI CD-1 and have a goal of sending letters to all of our members in the district (30,000). Given the quickly approaching April 4th election date, we are eager to get started on hand-addressed letters!

As a quick refresher, our program has volunteers send personalized letters to targeted working-class people in key states. The objective is to increase the salience of issues that working people care about but that can get lost in political noise - such as health care. Our research has found that this shift in which issue matters most come election time drives these same targeted voters to support progressive candidates, all without even mentioning candidates, because the connection between progressives and issues like health care is so strong.

This letter program in particular has the added bonus of giving us an opportunity to test out the potential power of a new letter topic, election integrity. Along with our recurring topic of healthcare, it will come as no surprise to most of us that the legitimacy and security of elections is also, and will continue to be, a key issue in 2023 and 2024. It is for this reason that we are interested in testing our ability to use it to connect voters with candidates who are focused on safeguarding the integrity of elections from the municipal to the national level.
