Yakkity Yak at the SA Queer Youth Emerging Leaders Summit

Expressions of Interest open to queer people aged 16 to 25 to present a 15 minute Yakkity Yak (Ted Talk) at the Queer Emerging Leaders Summit

The South Australian Rainbow Advocacy Alliance is hosting a one-day summit, bringing together LGBTIQA+ young people aged 16-25 from across South Australia. This will be an opportunity to build on current skills, knowledge and networks to support young people who are interested in creating meaningful change in our community and showcasing their voices.

Movers and shakers, from different backgrounds and levels of experience, will lead panel conversations and workshops delivering practical skills on a range of topics.

We're seeking young volunteers who want to share a:
  • an important message to other queer youth
  • a queer related idea
  • a project or advocacy campaign

The Yakkity Yak needs to be 14 to 15 minutes long and include a live talk with at least a few slides or could be a video or other type of presentation with a queer theme that makes people think, inspires, engages or recruits to a cause. This is your time to shine and share great ideas!
