Honorary Membership in AFSCME shall be available on the following terms:
To be eligible to be an Honorary Member, individual shall not be eligible for membership in an AFSCME Affiliate.
To become an Honorary Member, an eligible person shall submit an application for Honorary Membership to the International Secretary Treasurer’s office. If any eligible person previously submitted an application to be a member-at-large, this Honorary Membership shall supersede the at-large membership.
Dues shall be paid at the rate of $36/year, and may be paid either on an annual basis in advance, or via payroll deduction, upon execution of an authorization for such voluntary deductions.
An Honorary Membership card shall be provided upon submission of an application along with payment of dues or submission of a dues authorization form.
Honorary Membership shall not confer membership in any AFSCME local, district or council; Honorary Members shall have this alternative form of membership in the International, only. Honorary Members shall have access to AFSCME Advantage benefits.
Honorary Members may be invited to participate in periodic webinars and educational programs.
Honorary Membership does not confer a right to vote on officers of the International Union or of any affiliate, nor a right to vote on any other matters coming before the union.
Honorary Membership does not confer a right to be a candidate for elective office at the local, district or council, or International union level.
Honorary Membership does not confer any representational rights.
Honorary Membership does not confer the right to attend the International Convention as a delegate or otherwise, nor the right to attend any meetings at any level of the union.
