We have an opportunity to strike a blow against the billionaire class through a grassroots movement of working people and youth to win a $19 an hour minimum wage in Renton. A victory of this magnitude would reverberate throughout generations of working people.
First and foremost, we need to gather 10,000 signatures to qualify for the ballot by June.
This will take resources. Seattle DSA, with the Renton Teacher Association, are leading up the Raise the Wage Renton campaign. To help the campaign develop and organize the campaign's volunteer base, Seattle DSA has hired the Stephanie Gallardo 2022 for Congress Campaign Field Director, Guillermo.
The low wage, no benefit corporations that dominate Renton will spare no expense to continue to reap enormous profits off the backs of low wage workers, who are disproportionately people of color, Black people, immigrants, women, and LGBTQ people.
We are a grassroots movement that is solely funded by working people like yourselves. Will you kick down $19, $50, $100 for Seattle DSA to support the grassroots movements for a higher minimum wage in Renton?
