Georgia's legacy for using nonviolent civil disobedience as a tactic to shed light on injustice is deep, and has led to progressive changes that have positively impacted our communities.
This fund exists to support principled strategic nonviolent direct action aimed at exposing injustice and creating the changes our communities need to survive and thrive. The fund may also be used to provide bail support for victims of targeted, politically motivated arrests.
The funds are Facilitated by a committee with representation from the Atlanta Economic Justice Program of the American Friends Service Committee, Atlanta Jobs with Justice, and Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition.
The Georgia Civil Disobedience Fund has provided bail support to immigration actions, Moral Monday Georgia, housing justice work of Occupy Our Homes Atlanta, and a number of other actions.
Please consider supporting nonviolent direct action by making a contribution today.
