The Kanawha Forest Coalition was formed in 2014 to halt the invasive spread of MTR strip mining around the perimeter of Kanawha State Forest in order to protect both the Forest and Charleston, WV area neighborhoods and communities from the adverse impacts of MTR mining.

We are a volunteer organization. Every dollar you donate helps us organize, monitor environmentally destructive projects, and push government agencies to effectively enforce our environmental laws and regulations.

We support an end to mountaintop removal mining next to KSF, and across Appalachia.
