Today FXB needs your urgent support and it is reaching out with an emergency plea. FXB needs to raise USD $25,000 before year end to be able to continue the very much needed presence we have among the HIV mothers and children in the Atlantic Coast. Any dollar counts towards saving a life. All donations are 100% deductible for US tax payers.
The story of FXB started in 1986, when Albina du Boisrouvray’s only son François-Xavier, a rescue pilot, was killed in a tragic helicopter accident when he was just 24. His girlfriend at the time of his accident was from Barranquilla, Colombia. She is a founding member of the FXB Foundation and the reason why the foundation opened its doors in Colombia in 1995.
Meet Mailen, one of our FXB children saved:
Mailen is 24 years old and HIV positive. When she was 11, she was diagnosed with HIV, a death sentence and a source of stigma. Medication was out of reach for people living in extreme poverty like Mailen's family. She says her life changed when she entered the FXB House. Today, Mailen is a working mother of two. She is able to support herself and her children.
"Thanks to the medical treatment I received during my pregnancy both of my children were born negative. Once again, FXB has provided me with all the support I need to strive and thrive. They are there for me, not to give me handouts and charity but to walk next to me and guide me in my own personal growth."
