Josh Taft was arrested for protesting against a white-supremacist Klan rally in Stone Mountain, Georgia on April 23rd, 2016. He was wrongfully charged with Aggravated Assault With a Deadly Weapon while sitting peacefully on a park bench, with the Stone Mountain Police Department stating that he threw smoke bombs/fireworks at the police with intention to harm them.
Josh Taft protested against everything that the white supremacists and the KKK stand for, he stood in the front-lines of the protest at all times and against the cops, not letting them intimidate him at any point; sometimes at the risk of his own well-being and safety (he was shot by rubber bullets for getting too close to the police in full riot gear). Never did he, however, hurt, or attempt to hurt another human being at the counter-protest at any point, even going as far as getting getting punched by a fellow protester for attempting to put out a fire started in a forest path by a fellow protester.
Josh was bonded out of jail, but he isn't free yet. He has a long legal battle ahead of him, and needs your support monetarily. If you are unable to donate, please share Josh's story and spread the word of this injustice he's facing against a historically racist Police Department. All funds collected through this fundraiser will be used for legal expenses that Josh is going to incur through this ordeal. Every penny donated means the world, and we can't do this without your love and support.
