Utah Tar Sands Resistance is a grassroots organization of people determined to prevent the imminent threat of tar sands and tar shale mining in Utah, the Colorado Plateau region and, ultimately, the entire world. US Oil Sands have cleared 93 acres and hold leases for 32,000 acres to be strip mined in Utah. UTSR will continue to resist and defend every inch of this lush and vibrant wilderness in the remote Book cliffs.
