Outsourced UCL workers are fighting against fire-and-rehire & redundancies. We need your help.
UCL and subcontractor Bidvest Noonan have told outsourced security officers that they will be facing huge numbers of redundancies in the next few months, and that anyone not being made redundant will face worse conditions and hours than we previously did. For many of us, the cut in hours we are facing will amount to £13,500 less pay each year.
UCL workers have been campaigning to be in house since 2019, and we are horrified to see the university threaten to throw our jobs away like this during a cost of living crisis.
Workers have voted for strike action and demonstrations throughout the summer to combat this callous decision, but we need your help to make sure that outsourced staff retain their jobs. Please donate to the strike fund to show UCL and Bidvest Noonan that they can't get away with this!
Outsourced security officers at UCL are low-paid workers and it can be a struggle to sustain lengthy strike action. That's why we are raising this strike hardship fund to help us get by through our strike.
Some funds may also be used for campaign expenses where members decide democratically to do so. Any funds that aren't used as part of this campaign will be transferred to the IWGB Universities branch fighting fund for future campaigns and organising.
