The IWGB Private Hire Drivers is a union run by drivers, for drivers.
Over the last 10 years our pay and conditions working for apps like Uber, Bolt and Addison Lee have deteriorated so much that many of us are having to work 60 or 70 hour weeks just to make ends meet. The impact on our health, our family life and our mental wellbeing is devastating.
We know that the only way to win real change in the sector is to come together and fight back as a united workforce.
So far this year, we’ve already made some amazing progress: we’ve grown our membership, fought a successful campaign against TfL, and, on Valentine’s Day, organised the biggest driver uprising the UK has ever seen.
But it’s an uphill battle. We’re running a campaign on a shoestring whilst going up against gig economy giants with deep pockets.
Our next action is on the 1st of May - International Workers Day. This time round we are being joined by driver groups around the world, including in the US and Nigeria.
By supporting our fighting fund you’ll help us print more posters, distribute more flyers, paint more banners, host more meetings, share more videos, pull off more stunts and stage more protests so that we can continue to go from strength to strength - organising the ‘unorganisable’ and winning victories no one thought possible.
