2018 - Jill Linta for House 106

My main focus is on advocacy, for civil rights and the protection of the environment and wildlife. I have several years of legal experience working as the Assistant Hearings Administrator for the PA Insurance Department. I trained to become a poll watcher after watching the 2000 presidential election fiasco and have volunteered in every presidential election since. In the fall of 2016, I become a trained legal observer for the National Lawyers Guild, where I witnessed white supremacist and anti-Muslim events. I observed protests in Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day and during the Women’s March. Since that time, I have become a coordinator with the NLG, a leadership role I relish. I feel strongly about our freedoms as Americans and want to do what I can to protect them for everyone, especially the disenfranchised among us.

I am also passionate about animal rescue and welfare issues. I’ve been a member of the Executive Committee of the Gov. Pinchot Group of the Sierra Club since the late 1990s and served as Vice Chair since 2015. I was elected as Chair in January 2018. With the Sierra Club I initiated our group’s Adopt-a-Highway involvement and have led volunteers in cleaning up the airport connector in Middletown several times per year. I have been involved with the Susquehanna River Cleanup since the late 1990s, and have co-led the event for several years. I have volunteered with Dauphin County Animal Response Team since the early 2000s, setting up and manning temporary animal shelters for citizens who lost power during flooding events and assisting the Humane Society of the U.S. care for dogs that were raided from puppy mills. I am also a trained oil spill volunteer with Tri-State Bird Rehabilitation and Rescue in Delaware.
