412 Food Rescue rescues perishable food about to be wasted by restaurants and retailers and directly distributes it to communities in need.

Hunger afflicts nearly 200,000 people in our region, many of them children. At the same time an astonishing 40% of food produced is wasted. 412 Food Rescue was founded upon the recognition that herein lies an opportunity. We work with stores and restaurants to rescue food that, though perfectly good, is destined for the landfill and get that food to hungry people. We work with community organizations like soup kitchens and the Free Store in Braddock to transform what would have been landfill into nutritious, delicious food for our hungry neighbors.
