Akron Bail Fund
The Akron Bail Fund is a grassroots, abolitionist organization working to liberate all people from jail and the criminal-legal system in Akron, OH.
The Akron Bail Fund emerged in the summer of 2022 after Akron Police Department killed Jayland Walker and arrested 75 protestors on malicious charges. Since then, we have continued to support freedom fighters in their struggle through the (in)justice system by posting bail, doing mutual aid support, providing transportation to court, updating people on their cases, and conducting court observation.
Our hope is to continue to expand these operations to more people held at the Summit County Jail and to more folks going through the court system.
We will be adding volunteer opportunities and sign up sheets. Keep your eyes on the Akron Bail Fund's Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages for the most up-to-date information and ways to get involved.
Freedom to all political prisoners! Liberation to all freedom fighters! Abolish all that confines and oppresses The People!
