The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest and fastest growing socialist organization in the United States, with over 80,000 members and over 234 chapters and organizing committees in communities and on campuses across the country and in every state. The working class creates all wealth and therefore is the only group that has the power to beat the ruling class. To that end, we seek to organize working people into fights against bosses, landlords, corporations, and corrupt politicians and take back power from them. Together, we’re working to build a mass movement to win Medicare for All, College for All, Housing for All, a Green New Deal, and so much more.

The Birmingham chapter of DSA was started in early 2017. Since then, we’ve started or joined in solidarity with campaigns to feed the hungry, free imprisoned immigrants, challenge local leadership and more. Our goal is to bring democracy and economic justice to a state that’s sorely lacking in both. We ask that you join us in building a powerful, multiracial working class movement in Birmingham, in Alabama, and in the USA in order to create an economy and government that works for all of us, not just the wealthy, powerful few.
