Brighton & Hove Citizens

Brighton and Hove Citizens is an independent membership alliance of civil society institutions acting together for the common good of our city.
Our membership organisations reach over 55,000 of Brighton and Hove's citizens.
Since our founding in April 2019, we have:
- Been building an alliance that is now the largest group of civil society institutions across the city.
- Been training hundreds of local leaders; sharing tools, techniques and hard-won experience.
- Won our campaign to reinstate an accessible toilet in Hove.
- Won £200,000 of investment from Brighton and Hove City Council to support hundreds of young people with counselling across the city.
- Got Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to develop a 'single point of access' to make referrals to key services easier and more effective.
- Got Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust to develop 'virtual waiting rooms' to support families waiting for key medical appointments.
- Successfully campaigned and won a real Living Wage for local care/nursing home staff across the city.
- Successfully campaigned to ensure that Brighton and Hove City Council include real Living Wage criteria in their commissioning processes thus lifting the wages of thousands of workers across the city.
- Successfully campaigned to ensure that more Schools and Colleges have access to Unizone discounts, thus saving hundreds of thousands of pounds on transport costs for young people across the city.
- And much more!
