We are a direct action eviction defense network.
Our method of action is physically preventing evictions through eviction blockades. We may not successfully prevent every eviction, and some of us may be arrested, but housing is a human right. Our goals are:
- Keep people in their homes.
- Monkey wrench the gears of the eviction machine; make every eviction slow, risky, and expensive.
- Eviction moratorium and rent cancellation for the duration of the COVID-19 Crisis.
If you are at risk of being evicted currently, and/or willing to physically show up to eviction sites to prevent police eviction actions, please join us. Here's how it will work:
- Sign up and opt in to email or text messages (or join our Telegram channel)
- Be ready to show up.
- If you are being evicted, please text, call, or telegram: (317) 643-0528 with your name, your address and scheduled eviction date.
- We will create an action and email/text message the entire network with the time and date to show up.
- On the day of the eviction we'll show up early, block access to your home (apartment or house) and bodily prevent the sheriffs from accessing the property to carry out the eviction.
