The Colorado Coalition for Retirement Security was founded in 2006 to work with the Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA) and the Colorado State Legislature to address challenges facing PERA’s defined benefit pension plan.

The coalition was re-activated in 2009 to help find solutions following the market crash of 2008. Working with PERA and the State Legislature, CCRS helped create groundbreaking legislation that helped correct the downward trajectory of PERA’s fiscal stability following the crash in 2008.

The coalition supports retirement security for all Coloradans and opposes any proposals or legislation putting the long term fiscal stability of PERA in jeopardy.
