The Defend Democracy Coalition is composed primarily of Oregon-based community organizations and individuals working together to protect the integrity of our elections. We have witnessed a strategic and sustained effort by the country's political leadership to suppress the vote and undermine our electoral process. All this with the intention of illegally maintaining power and subverting the will of the people.

We will, through nonviolent direct action, respond to this blatant disregard for our democracy. We acknowledge that there is a long way to go to have a system in the US that works for all of its people; and our success in thwarting this authoritarian threat is key to continuing the work required beyond these elections.
