The Immigrants’ Rights Working Group of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) organizes for the full liberation of peoples impacted by mass displacement, forced migration, and oppression caused by global capitalism and imperialism.

As democratic socialists, we recognize that migrants experience the most damning and direct crimes caused by the systems of capitalism. Militarized borders, xenophobic/racist immigration laws, and an abusive prison-industrial complex aim to dehumanize and marginalize immigrants, functioning to both suppress wages and divide the working class. We seek to abolish these and any barrier imposed on the social, labor, and political power of migrants through a revolutionary decolonial movement.

Our Objectives

Our policy objectives are ultimately abolitionist:
