DSM Dreamcatchers

Des Moines, IA

We are a newly formed group of empowerment advocates from the Des Moines, IA area.

Many of us participated in Women’s Marches in Washington DC and Des Moines, IA. This is the first step we need to take in order to mobilize millions to win back the country and world we want for future generations.

We promise to each other to be a positive, inclusive, and action-oriented group where allies can gather together and engage in thoughtful, constructive debate to resolve and set up action plans around tough issue we face today.

We unify our voices to people who can impact a change.

A bit about our name:

Dreamcatchers originated with the Ojibwe people and were gradually adopted by some neighboring nations through intermarriage and trade. It wasn't until the Pan-Indian Movement of the 1960s and 1970s that they were also adopted by Native Americans of a large number of diverse cultures. Some consider the dreamcatcher a symbol of unity among the various Indigenous Nations, and a general symbol of identification with Native American or First Nations cultures.
