Homes Instead

[city],

A group of concerned volunteers who are committed to bearing witness by holding a daily vigil outside the nation's largest private, for profit child prison located in Homestead, Florida. Approx 2500 innocent migrant children are being held here, in violation of the Flores Agreement, which states that children should never be detained more than 20 days. Caliburn International and Comprehensive Health Services are receiving $2.48 million in taxpayer money ($755 per child per day!) to fund this cruel and inhumane tent city, with little to no oversight, transparency or accountability. We stand united at 989 Bougainville Blvd from 10am-4pm, 7 days a week, to attempt to shine a light in this dark and secret place until every last child is safely reunited with their families and sponsors.

We believe that immigrants are welcome in America.

We believe in families, not facilities.

We believe in homes, not prisons.
