Ingersoll is one of the oldest organizations of, by and for transgender and gender nonconforming people in the United States. Officially formed in 1977, we have been building community, connecting folks to resources and advocating for our communities in the Puget Sound region for over four decades. We provides mutual support through peer led support groups, advocacy in navigating resources, community organizing, and education — all in the pursuit of our collective self-determination.

Our Mission

Ingersoll Gender Center is an organization of, by and for transgender, genderqueer and gender non-conforming people, and the people who support them. Ingersoll is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization located in Seattle, WA. Ingersoll was founded in 1977 and is one the oldest trans-led organizations in the United States. We focus on direct peer support, community building, education and advocacy. Ingersoll has become a model for peer support organizations around the world, and enjoys an international awareness for its long-standing success and timely innovations.
