My name is Joaquín Vázquez and I am a first-generation Mexican American, born and raised by working-class undocumented immigrant parents in San Diego. As a child, I overcame family separation and homelessness when my father was detained for several months, then permanently deported. Now I am fighting for the people of California's 53rd Congressional District to have a voice in Washington, DC and fight the Trump agenda.

My educational and professional background make me the most qualified candidate for the job, but it is my life experience that makes me the true champion of the people.
