Construction & General Building Laborers' Local 79 is one of the largest, most progressive and active local unions in New York City. Affiliated with the Mason Tenders District Council of Greater New York, Local 79 was chartered by the Laborers International Union of North America (LiUNA) in 1996 through the consolidation of ten local unions.
