The idea for this teach-in came as I was reading comments and essays on various social media platforms from people who don’t understand, or misunderstand, Black Lives Matter, tensions surrounding Confederate monuments, police brutality, protest, activism, voter suppression, and anti-Black racism.  Your sessions will tackle an important issue that addresses these, or a closely related topic. Ideally, attendees will come away from the teach-in with a better understanding of this important moment in social justice and equality. Each session should be accessible to a general audience.
