Stand with Seabirds with the National Audubon Society!

Seabirds are indicators of ocean health. When they’re in trouble, it tells us something bigger is going on. 2018 was the warmest year on record for Earth’s oceans.

Seabirds are in crisis. They've declined globally by 70% in the last 60 years as the world warms and their food, forage fish, disappears: we know that this drastic decline is partially caused by overfishing of forage fish, and in recent years, rapidly warming ocean water driving forage fish deeper and further search of cold water. This leads to declines in seabird populations as they struggle to find food for themselves and their young.

Currently, almost every single forage fish population is failing. Seabirds face a tough future unless we’re able to build enough grassroots power to demand federal policy to reverse this.

There are solutions within our reach, but only if there's people power to push them forward. That's why the National Audubon Society is building grassroots power to protect birds and the places they need. Join us!
