Coming Together to Enact Change and Coordinate Action within our Community

We are a group that has come together for the purpose of combining efforts locally to try and combat some of the concerning issues facing us as Americans since Trump has taken office. We are specifically concerned about women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, immigrant and refugee safety and status in the country, education, access to affordable healthcare, including women’s reproductive rights, and so much more. Most of us have young kids in the community and we worry about the lasting effects of this administration on their future and safety.

We have a specific goal of trying to bridge the gap of divisiveness within our community, and are attempting to reach out to people in red counties here in Colorado. Our purpose is not to berate the current administration or attack our opposition. Our goal is to come together and share our concerns, target specific action to be taken within our community (ie  vote specific calls to our senators and MoCs), and generally feel less alone in this time of fear and uncertainty. The idea was born out of the Women’s March on January 21^st, and the desire to follow up the march with real, concrete action.

- Let's keep this positive. We don't want to fight hate with hate. It is so encouraging to see us come together and express an interest in making significant, positive change. These are issues of human rights and human decency, and not politics as usual.

-We want to actively seek and understand the opposition. When opportunities present themselves, or if we are able to create them, let's have conversations with the other side of the aisle, so to speak.
