NoPGEBailout

Oakland, CA

The mission of the No PG&E Bailout Coalition is to prevent California ratepayers and taxpayers from being forced  to bailout Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), or any other monopoly utility of their liability for fire damage. We are building popular movement for a public “take over” of PG&E and the other monopoly utilities, which protects current utility workers’ jobs and pensions, fire victims’ claims, Community Choice Energy programs and municipal utilities. We demand that the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) be reconstituted as a more democratically run agency that serves the public interest. The ultimate mission of the No PG&E Bailout Coalition is to build a public, democratically controlled and decentralized energy system in California that protects  workers and creates new green jobs. We envision a system that prioritizes locally developed clean energy as key to a just transition, a system that provides environmental, economic, social justice benefits to communities and long term sustainability.
