We are a collective group of families, friends, direct supports, provider agencies, community members, advocacy groups and most of all individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Working together to improve lives and make change in Florida.

Established in 2018, Our Voices Together seeks to unite and strengthen ALL of our VOICES to improve the lives of Floridians with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We want to bring together organizations and individuals across the state that care about the Disability Community to work in alliance. We hope to create change to better the quality of lives for individuals with I/DD in Florida and build a culture that values, includes and supports people with disabilities

Why DO We Need Your Voice?

• Florida ranks 50th for funding Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services.  
• Wages paid to DSPs are less than those paid to work at fast food restaurants and retail stores.
• Florida Workforce CRISIS - Low wages for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) results in high turnover and negatively impacts the quality of services provided.
• The need for Direct Support Professionals EXCEEDS the number professionals working in the field, and this workforce CRISIS is only expected to increase.
• The IMPACT of this CRISIS on the lives of people with disabilities and their families can't be measured in dollars.
