Pembroke House

Pembroke House is a centre for social action and residential community in Walworth, south-east London.

We're helping to build a Walworth in which people can lead good lives and work together towards a good society.

We do this by bringing people together in a common endeavour: bridging traditional divides to build a better neighbourhood.

Right now, we're supporting our community through the coronavirus pandemic. We have closed our buildings to keep people safe, but you can't shut a community.

We're setting up an emergency food distribution hub, running online activities, creating resources for local people, and staying in touch with our participants.

Ordinarily, we're home to an array of projects and activities for local people. These range from a weekly lunch club to a music academy that provides high-quality tuition to children who would otherwise miss out.

Last year we opened a second community space, the Walworth Living Room. With a large social space and community cafe at its heart, it's a place where local people come together, develop their own projects and activities, and work together for the benefit of the neighbourhood.

Pembroke House is formally known as Pembroke College Settlement: UK charity no. 1177866; company no. 10586362
