Sunrise Movement Lawrence is a local hub of the national Sunrise Movement Organization. The Sunrise Movement is a youth driven group of climate activists fighting for equitable climate change solutions and advocating for the adoption of the Green New Deal.

Sunrise Movement Lawrence will work locally to promote the national Sunrise Movement initiatives while also pursuing opportunities to act in support of local environmental and social justice reforms that are unique to our city and state. Global warming is a crisis that will impact all communities. Accordingly, all members of our diverse community must be involved in the solution. Sunrise Movement is an intentionally inclusive organization, strongly encouraging involvement and leadership from members of marginalized communities.
