The Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee began in 2018 as a coalition of housing justice activists and tenants fighting for dignity and justice in Tacoma, WA. In 2022, as the newly renamed Tacoma Tenants Union, we are building upon our foundation to continue educating tenants on knowing & asserting their rights. We organize tenants one building, one complex one neighborhood at a time. We advocate for housing justice laws & polices at all government levels. We support tenants who are facing substandard living conditions, unethical landlords, and struggle with housing insecurity. Most of us have lived experience. Our goal is to share our lived experience and housing justice fight so that all tenants can become effective self-advocates.
