Every worker in Austin should earn paid sick days because when more families are self-sufficient, we all benefit.

Unfortunately, approximately 223,000 Austin workers – 37 percent of the total workforce – are at risk of losing wages or being fired if they follow doctor’s orders when they or a family member is ill.

The City of Austin has an opportunity to advance a paid sick days policy that will benefit Austin families, public health, and the economy.
