Install a Protected Bike Lane on 14th Street between Sanchez and Harrison Streets

Cross-section of a street design proposal for Valencia Street, showing a parking protected bike lane on one side and a post-protected bike lane on the other side adjacent to a parklet

14th Street between Sanchez and Folsom Streets has a dangerous, paint-only, unprotected bike lane that is unsafe for people and discourages people from shifting trips from cars to bikes and scooters, which leads to more car traffic, demand for car parking, noise, air pollution, roadway injuries and fatalities, and climate emissions and less revenue for local businesses. This section of 14th Street serves as a critical route for people going east, connecting to Market, Valencia, Shotwell, and Folsom Streets.

It's time for 14th Street's dangerous, paint-only, unprotected bike lane to be upgraded to a curbside protected bikeway. Please support a curbside protected bikeway on 14th Street by filling in the form on this page, then sending an email in one tap on the next page—it only takes a few taps and less than a minute, and you'll be making a difference!
