Tell Del. Alonzo Washington to End Tax Breaks for Country Clubs

Prince George's County Delegate Alonzo Washington (D-22) chairs the House Ways and Means Committee, which will hold a hearing on March 9 for a bill (H.B. 1120)  that would eliminate a special tax break for country clubs and make sure country club owners pay their fair share. These country clubs include clubs whose members can afford to pay initiation fees of upwards of $90,000 – well more than what a typical worker in the county makes in a year. Use this form to tell Del. Alonzo Washington that Maryland should not subsidize the wealthy's recreation, especially when working people are struggling to get by during the pandemic.
