Add your name: Paul Ryan must remove Devin Nunes from the House Intelligence Committee

On January 29, House Republicans voted down party lines to release a memo drafted by House Intelligence chair Rep. Devin Nunes alleging supposed misdeeds by the FBI and Department of Justice in the Russia investigation. Both agencies have warned that releasing the memo is reckless and a threat to national security.

Democrats who have seen Nunes' memo allege that it contains deceptive information designed to undermine the investigation and intentionally mislead the public in an effort to cover for the Trump administration. Republicans voted to block their memo contradicting Nunes.

This isn't the first time Nunes, a member of Trump's transition team, has deliberately obstructed, obfuscated, delayed and derailed the investigation to Trump's benefit. As one of Trump's most loyal bootlickers in Congress, he has repeatedly shown that he cannot be trusted with classified information or the security of the country.

The severity of Nunes' actions cannot be overstated. The FBI is literally sounding alarms about the danger to national security that this memo poses because of both inaccuracies and how much it could reveal about the intelligence community's operations.

House Speaker Paul Ryan has the power to remove Nunes from the committee. Ryan, a friend of Nunes, will need overwhelming pressure from House members to force his hand. We need to make sure he feels compelled to fulfil his constitutional duty.
