FIGHT BACK AGAINST GERRYMANDERING IN TARRANT COUNTY

On April 2nd, 2025, County Judge Tim O'Hare and Commissioners Manny Ramirez and Matt Krause voted to move forward with a plan to redistrict Tarrant County ahead of the 2026 election, an election where Judge O'Hare and Commissioner Ramirez's seats will be on the ballot.

There is no denying that this is a blatant attempt by the Republican Commissioners to racially gerrymander Precincts 1 and 2 and dilute the voting power of people of color in these districts. The True Texas Project, a group that has been designated as a white-nationalist organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center for THREE YEARS IN A ROW, vocalized their support for this redistricting attempt. The Republican Commissioners themselves have even come out and stated that they intend to use this process to benefit conservative candidates. They fear the strength of minority voters in Tarrant County and will use whatever dirty tricks they have up their sleeves to keep themselves in power.

Judge O'Hare handpicked The Public Interest Legal Foundation, a right-wing legal group notorious for their attacks on voting rights, and tasked them with creating the potential new maps. When questioned by Commissioner Alisa Simmons on why he selected this specific group, Judge O'Hare refused to answer, stating that he "does not answer" to her.

The last time we checked, Judge O'Hare, Commissioner Ramirez, and Commissioner Krause answer to the people of Tarrant County! So, let's make our voices heard and demand that these commissioners reject ALL proposals for new district maps.

Join our email campaign and send an email to the Commissioners letting them know that you are against any and all attempts to manipulate Tarrant County district lines just to keep Republicans in power. Our elected officials are not meant to choose their voters; the people are meant to choose their elected officials! Our votes matter, and we refuse to allow Judge O'Hare and Commissioners Manny Ramirez and Matt Krause to silence our votes through gerrymandering.
