All Marylanders Deserve Quality Affordable Healthcare

All Marylanders deserve quality affordable healthcare. But many who live here are ineligible for healthcare insurance due to immigration status. Others 1) don't get employer-sponsored insurance, 2) make too much to qualify for Medicaid, yet 3) still can't afford to purchase insurance on the open market.

The Access to Care Act - sponsored in the Maryland Senate by Clarence Lam and in the House by more than 30 delegates - rectifies this injustice by:

  • Removing immigration status as a barrier to obtaining healthcare insurance.
  • Subsidizing qualified Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) insurance purchases.
