Approve Affordable Housing in North Dallas

On Tuesday, Dallas’ Public Facility Corporation (PFC) will vote on whether to partner with a developer and build Cypress Creek at Forest Lane which would provide 102 affordable units, including 38 units available for those making 30% of Area Median Income. In what has been a journey with more twists and turns than Game of Thrones, the city of Dallas has the chance to do the right thing and vote in favor of a deal to bring Affordable Housing to North Dallas at Forest Lane and 75.

City Council approved these apartments in 2021, but in order to get around a deed restriction, the city is having to partner with the developer and build the apartments as a PFC. This letter will be sent to city staff who will forward it to the PFC Board Members, since many of those Board Members don't have publicly available emails.

Many area residents are trying to stop the project, despite it being far from any existing single-family homes. We must let the PFC Board know that we need this affordable housing built! Your letter will help make deeply affordable housing a reality in a high opportunity area of Dallas. The location is within walking distance of a DART rail Station and major employers like Medical City. Thank you for writing a letter in support!

To sign up to speak at the PFC meeting, call 214-670-3077 before Monday at noon. The meeting is noon on Tuesday, and you CAN speak remotely. Speaking for just a minute makes a huge difference, so please sign up!
