Ask our Legislators to Support Immigrant Justice Priorities

Today we have an opportunity to start taking action together as JCIJ. Let’s send letters to our legislators asking them to support our priorities for immigrant justice.

Immigrants are an integral part of our community, workforce, and families. But they’re often denied unemployment insurance and health care based on immigration status, no matter how long they’ve called Washington home. Newly arrived migrants (approximately 14,000 people) need legal support, shelter, and other supports to get on their feet.

JCIJ is calling for legislation to get immigrants the health care, unemployment insurance, and asylum support they need. Let’s ask our legislators to make sure each of these priorities reaches the Governor’s desk this session.

Take action now:

  1. Send your legislators an email. You can use the sample text once you click “Start Writing.”
  2. Want to customize the text? Add a sentence or a small paragraph about why these issues matter to you. You can connect it to your family’s immigration story, your personal history, your Jewish values, or all of the above!
  3. Share with your friends via text, email, and social media! The more momentum we can build in support of these legislative priorities, the better.
