Ask your Representative to pass HB58

Installing solar panels on your home or is business is a great way to take control of your carbon footprint--and your energy costs! The average payback period on residential solar panels in Delaware is eight years; meaning after the first eight years you are not only producing 100% clean energy that your family can feel good about, but you're making money on the electricity you're generating for free instead of paying unstable electric rates from the grid.

Unfortunately some Delawareans aren't able to achieve their potential by energy & money savings due to outdated deed restrictions in certain neighborhoods. House Bill 58, spearheaded by Representative Kim Williams, aims to correct that. HB58 which would prohibit deed restrictions on roof-mounted solar panels in Delaware communities, would not only help Delawareans save money, but also greatly decrease air pollution in the First State.

But in order to get this bill over the finish line it first needs to pass the House of Representatives. You can help us make that happen, but you have to act fast! We expect this bill will come up for a vote later this month.

As you know, Delaware has frequent "air quality action days" and many Delawareans are plagued by respiratory conditions that are exacerbated by the air pollution from power plants. Solar energy is not only an excellent financial investment, but it is an investment in our health. Please contact your Representative today and ask them to vote YES on House Bill 58!
