Together Gen-Z and millennials make up over 40% of the overall population but are woefully underrepresented in the federal government: as of May 2021, only 8.1% of the federal workforce is under the age of 30. As the generation that led movements over the last several years and fundamentally changed the political landscape, we have more than earned our seat at the table. That's why YouthInGov - a coalition of 100+ youth-led and -serving organizations - has joined with the Future Forum Congressional Caucus to push for allocation of money in the FY 2023 budget to:

• Create an Office of Young Americans within the Executive Office of the President, staffed by a Director who will sit on the Domestic Policy Council

• Conduct a Federal Young Americans Inclusion Assessment to identify the best methods to assist agencies/departments in equitably including and engaging Young Americans.
