Boston Elected Officials: Please Support an Increased Roslindale Library Renovation Budget

Dear Boston Elected Officials,

Representatives of the Friends of Roslindale Branch Library met with Mayor Marty Walsh recently to express our appreciation for his commitment to the BPL, to share our excitement about the planned renovations in Roslindale, and to ask for a budget increase so we can make the most of this opportunity. Pat Brophy, the City’s Chief of Operations, also attended and indicated that an additional $3.5M is needed. Mayor Walsh is exploring budget options relative to this request.

We are asking for your help to ensure that our renovation results in a library that will serve our thriving community for many years in the future. We believe the additional funding, which would also make Roslindale’s renovation budget more aligned with other similar branch renovation budgets, would be both a smart and strategic investment.

Thank you for your support and for doing what you can to move this project forward soon.
